As mompreneurs, we wear so many hats — CEO, CFO, snack distributor, referee, chauffeur, emotional
support human for both clients and children. And somehow, we manage to do it all with (mostly)
clean leggings and an occasional power bun.
We launch coaching programs between PTA meetings. We negotiate contracts while sitting in the
carpool lane. We write social media captions while helping with math homework we barely
understand (is long division still a thing?!).
But here’s what’s truly remarkable: We don’t just survive this season — we thrive in it. Why? Because
motherhood has taught us everything we need to know about business:
Negotiation tactics? Try explaining to a four-year-old why they can’t eat glue.
Time management? Moms can squeeze eight hours of work into a two-hour nap window.
Crisis management? Spilled milk, canceled meetings, forgotten costumes — we’ve seen it all.
The back-to-school chaos sharpens us. It makes us nimble, strategic, and even more creative.
Let’s Talk About Mom Guilt
Can we take a moment to address the beast in the room? Mom guilt.
Whether you're missing a school play for a client call or skipping a
webinar to attend back-to-school night, the guilt is loud and
relentless. It whispers lies like:
"You should be doing more."
"You’re missing out on your kids' lives."
"Your business is suffering because you took a day off."
I’m here to call bull. You’re not failing. You’re prioritizing.
Some days, the business wins. Other days, your child’s diorama of a
whale gets turned in on time with working LED lights and a hand-
sewn ocean backdrop (true story, I may have gone a little
overboard). It all balances out.
So let’s cut ourselves some slack. You are building a life — not just a
business or a family, but a whole life that reflects your values, your
passions, and your legacy.
That, my friend, is success!
