HOW DO WE
ACCELERATE
ACTION?
1. Break Down Barriers in Leadership
Women comprise nearly half the global
population yet hold only a fraction of leadership
roles. To empower women, leaders, businesses,
governments, and communities must commit to
intentional actions like gender quotas,
mentorship programs, and succession planning.
2. Champion Equal Pay and Economic
Empowerment
Women are still paid less than men for the same
work across industries and geographies.
Enforcing transparency in pay structures,
strengthening labour protections, and investing
in women-owned businesses are critical to
closing the wage gap.
3. Challenge Bias and Stereotypes
Unconscious bias is one of the most pervasive
barriers to equality. Education and training at
every level—from classrooms to boardrooms—are
vital to uprooting ingrained stereotypes and
promoting equitable practices.
4. Support Women in STEM
Women remain underrepresented in science,
technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Promoting STEM education for girls, creating
pathways for women in tech, and addressing
workplace biases in these fields are essential for
ensuring their inclusion in future industries.
5. Tackle Gender-Based Violence
Gender-based violence remains one of the most
significant violations of human rights.
Governments, organizations, and communities
must prioritize prevention, accountability, and
survivor support.
6. Invest in Intersectionality
Gender inequality does not affect all women
equally. Race, disability, socioeconomic status,
and sexual orientation often amplify
discrimination. Adopting an intersectional lens
ensures that the most marginalized women are
not left behind.
