As we celebrate the 1-year anniversary of She Talks Magazine, I am overwhelmed

with gratitude and pride for the incredible journey we’ve shared. Over the past

year, we’ve had the honor of highlighting extraordinary women whose stories

inspire, empower, and transform lives around the globe. Together, we’ve

expanded our reach, built a powerful community, and made a lasting impact.

None of this would be possible without the passion and dedication of our team,

contributors, and the entire She Talks family—you are the heart and soul of this

movement.

This year, we are especially proud to honor two phenomenal She Talkers,

MyPhuong Le and Leah Villegas, with the She Talks Innovators of the Year award.

These trailblazers are redefining the future for women in STEM, making

extraordinary contributions to the BioTech field, and paving the way for future

generations. Their innovation, leadership, and courage inspire us all, and we are

thrilled to celebrate their groundbreaking achievements.

As we reflect on this milestone and look to the future, I want to thank you for

believing in this vision and helping us amplify the voices of women worldwide.

Wishing you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas filled with joy and a New

Year brimming with hope, growth, and endless possibilities. Here’s to another

year of empowering voices, celebrating changemakers, and transforming lives

together!

RESET AND

RECONNECT

Your Holiday 60-Second

Mind-Body Reset

By Virginia Wilcsek

The holiday season can be both joyous

and stressful. Amidst the festivities and

obligations, it’s crucial to take moments

for yourself.

SHE TALKS | 7

Here’s a fresh 60-

second guide to help

you reset and manage

holiday stress:

Set Your Intention

Ask yourself, "What do I need right now?" Examples:

To take a break from holiday chaos.

To breathe deeply and calm my mind.

To show myself kindness amid stress.

To stay present and enjoy the moment.

Find Your Spot

Choose a quiet place where you feel comfortable and won’t be

disturbed, even if it's just a corner of a room.

Center Yourself

Sit or stand with your feet firmly on the ground. Feel your

connection to the earth.

Deep Breaths

Inhale deeply through your nose, hold for a few seconds, and

exhale slowly through your mouth. Repeat a few times, focusing

on each breath.

Quick Stretch

Stretch your arms above your head, then reach to the sides,

giving your body a gentle wake-up.

Mindful Touch

Place your hand on your heart and feel your heartbeat.

Acknowledge your presence in this moment.

Visualize Calm

Close your eyes and imagine a peaceful winter scene. Picture the

details, the sounds, and the feeling of calm.

Gratitude Moment

Think of one thing you are grateful for today, especially during

the holidays. Let this feeling of gratitude fill you up.

Gentle Movement

Rotate your wrists and ankles, or do a gentle twist to keep the

energy flowing.

10

Positive Affirmation

End with a positive affirmation, like "I am calm and centered" or

"I embrace the peace within me."

Take a moment to notice any changes in how you feel. Thank yourself for taking

this time to reset and reconnect. This is your gift to yourself—use it whenever

you need a quick reset during the holiday season.

Why Resolutions Flop

(And It’s Not Their Fault)

New Year’s Resolutions?

Nah, It’s Time for a

Revolution!

By Dagmar Fleming

Oh, that December magic—the scent of fresh pine,

the sweetness of cookies in the oven, and a cozy

glass of eggnog in your hand. As you settle into the

holiday spirit, your mind begins to wander to 2025.

What New Year’s resolutions will I set this time?

Should I finally organize the attic (it’s only been on

my list for the past five years)? How about spending

less—or more—on advertising? Maybe it’s time to get

serious about TikTok! Your mind starts buzzing with

possibilities. Oh, what fun it is to ride on fleeting

dreams we slay

You know the drill: make a resolution on New Year’s

Eve, power through for a couple of weeks (or, let’s be

real, days), then life happens. By mid-February, those

grand intentions disappear faster than free samples

at Costco.

We’re savvy businesswomen—we know the

importance of setting goals. So why do our

resolutions tend to fail?

The truth is, it’s not the resolutions that are flawed—

it’s that we set them without tackling the hidden

roadblocks. We’re laying out big plans without

clearing the emotional and mental patterns that keep

us spinning in place, like trying to organize a closet

by shoving everything behind a closed door.

Eventually, it all comes tumbling out. So, instead of

setting ourselves up for another round of intentions

as short-lived as New Year’s Eve crackers, what if we

took a different approach?

Prepare For a New

Year’s Revolution!

As someone who had the “pleasure” of growing

up amid the revolutionary atmosphere of ex-

communist Poland, I know a thing or two about

revolutions. It was practically part of the

curriculum. But this time, I’m talking about a

personal revolution—one that’s about breaking

free from the chains of tired old resolutions and

replacing them with a bold, fresh approach.

SHE TALKS | 9

Revolutions can’t happen without

overthrowing the status quo. To make

space for new, bold actions, we first need

to clear out the mental and emotional

clutter that keeps us spinning in place—all

the fears, doubts, and insecurities on the

“I’m not good enough” soundtrack.

Think of it as a closet clean-out for your

mindset. If you’re still holding onto

outdated beliefs (and last year’s fashion

trends), there’s no room for new ideas to

thrive.

Whether it’s fear of failure, self-doubt, or

perfectionism, it’s time to release anything

that keeps you stuck in the same old

patterns. Let’s make space for what truly

matters.

Good ol’ Uncle Einstein famously said that doing the same thing over and over and expecting

different results is the definition of insanity. So, may I be bold enough to ask: Are you planning to

stay on the Insanity Train this year, or are you ready to hop on the Revolutionary Plane? Strap in—

because we’re taking off!

So, here’s my question for you:

Is 2025 the year you resolve to make a change, or the

year you revolt against doing things the same old way?

Staging Your 2025 Revolution: Out with the Old, In with the Bold!

Step 1: Clear the Path to

Greatness

territory. I had to own my vision, trust my

expertise, and release limiting beliefs that

came with a big shift from B2B to B2C.

One of my colleagues defiantly

proclaimed, “You’ll never make it.” My

response? “Watch me.” I’ve crossed

continents, learned new languages, and

adapted to entirely different cultures—all

to pursue my entrepreneurial dream.

What’s one more flip in the script for a life

defined by bold reinvention?

A Revolutionary Leap

Sometimes, a revolution means

walking away from what you

excel at to embrace the next

level of growth and expansion.
