Hi, I am Dr. Julie Ducharme editor in chief of our She Talks Mag. We are excited that She Talks
Mag hits its one year anniversary. This vision of She Talks was started almost 8 years ago with
the idea that we would have a platform for all women to tell their story. You don’t have to be
famous or have a certain number of followers to grace the stage. We know that your strength of
story and power transcends being a celebrity, and your story matters, and we believe are
transparent and authentic talks can break down the barriers between women. The other part of
this vision was to create a group of women who could come together and support each other in
a way that women do not usually do. To create a sisterhood where we are each other’s biggest
fans, not competitors. Where we pick each other up and climb that ladder together. I am proud
to say we have been successful in building this sisterhood across the country over the last 8
years. We also decided that we needed to make sure we give back and that is where our
women’s Veteran program called Combat Boots to Heels comes in. This program helps women
veterans transitioning out of the military. We take a portion of funds from the ticket sales and
put that towards our women veterans to help support them in their transition. The inception of
this magazine came from the idea that we needed to expand the opportunities to tell women’s
stories as all of them may not be ready to take the stage but they might be ready to write about
them. Our She Talks Mag is filled with inspirational stories of our She Talkers’ members and
more. We hit on everything from women in leadership, to food, fashion, and great tips. If you’re
interested in being a part of this amazing community, you can join our She Talks community at

self!

A Time to Cherish,
Reflect, and Act with
Purpose
By Belinda Jane Keehn
As the warmth of Thanksgiving draws near, it
serves as a powerful reminder to pause and truly
appreciate what matters most in life: the people
we love, the time we spend together, and the
bonds we share. In a world that often feels chaotic
and uncertain, taking a moment to reflect on the
simple joys—laughter with loved ones, a home-
cooked meal, and meaningful conversations—
grounds us in gratitude.
Thanksgiving isn't just about the feast; it's about
the moments we create around the table, the
connections we strengthen, and the love we pass
between generations. It’s the only holiday of the
year that isn’t about gift-giving, but about ‘giving
thanks.’ It’s about being thankful not only for what
we have but for the opportunity to share it.
Whether it's a small gesture, like passing a dish to
someone who’s been quietly listening, or an open
conversation that lets someone know they are
seen and valued—these moments are precious.
In this season of gratitude, it’s important to reflect on
how we can give back. While we enjoy our time with
loved ones, there are millions around the world
struggling to survive: families torn apart by war,
children suffering in poverty, and countless people
enduring the horrors of slave labor and abuse. These
struggles may seem distant, but our voices and
actions can reach them. Now, more than ever, it's
crucial to stand up for what matters—to be advocates
for justice, compassion, and human dignity.
For those of us fortunate enough to have a seat at the
table, let’s extend that spirit of generosity beyond
our own circles. Whether it’s contributing to a local
food drive, donating to charities that support
vulnerable communities, or simply offering a helping
hand to a neighbor in need, every act of kindness
makes a difference.

It’s also important to recognize that our choices as
consumers have power. November is National
Entrepreneur Month, and while the world moves
toward convenience and fast consumption, we
can make a conscious effort to support small,
local businesses that are committed to making a
positive impact on people and the planet. These
entrepreneurs, often the underdogs, are pouring
their hearts into creating ethical, sustainable
products that benefit their communities. By
choosing to support them, we’re casting a vote for
the kind of world we want to live in.
As we gather this Thanksgiving, let’s not just be
thankful for the abundance on our plates but for
the opportunity to make a difference. Let’s
remember that we all have a voice. We can stand
up for the underrepresented, lift up those who’ve
been knocked down, and make educated decisions
that align with our values.

Together, we can be part of something larger—
something that reminds us that kindness,
compassion, and action are the greatest gifts we
can give this holiday season. So, as we sit around
our tables and cherish these special moments with
loved ones, let’s commit to making every day one
of gratitude, generosity, and purpose.
In a world that needs healing,
your voice matters. Your choices
matter. And together, we can
make this world a kinder, more
compassionate place.

Haters Mean Greatness
By Sally Anderson
“The bigger effect you have, the bigger momentum you make,
the more of a challenge you put out into the world, the more
success you have, the more the haters will come out and you
have to understand haters confirm greatness.”
